About the Event

Omi Callings is a 3 month/3 sessions creative process where artists, feelers, hearers, and utterers will spend time with the messages and wisdoms pouring forth from our ever giving waters. In the Yoruba Ifa-Orisa spiritual tradition and many other African traditional spiritual practices, there is honor, reverence and deep awareness of the power of omi (water). Omi flows in our lives in a continuous cycle calling us to heal, to transform, to release, to cleanse, to remember, to hold, to nourish, to connect, to illuminate, to grow. We will be creating art, affirmations, prints, and mini zines during our time. Come create art with us!

$21 Per Session

Workshop Led By Shani Ealey.

My name is Shani R. Ealey and I am a writer, visual artist, and spiritchaser living on sacred Ohlone Land/Oakland, CA born and raised in Stockton, CA. I spend a lot of time dreaming up new worlds through painting, the written word, and  zine making as a way to heal and transform intergenerational patterns of harm and disconnection. My work seeks to unearth what has been buried and pushed aside as a result of mass pressure to assimilate and instead honor, celebrate, and affirm the ancestral practices that help folks of the African Diaspora to remain grounded and connected to our sacred paths., @ani_igboya
